Michael Ocasio holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from California State University, Sacramento, along with graduate degrees in Radiological Health Physics from San Diego State University and MRI Imaging from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles.
Michael is a 25-year veteran in health physics, imaging, and therapeutic medical physics. He also served as a Laser Safety Officer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's National Ignition and Photon Science facility.
An active member of the health physics community, Michael has held more than 10 Radioactive Material licenses across California, Illinois, New York, and Puerto Rico. He has also served as a member of the National Radiological Response Team and has provided graduate instruction in Health physics.
His professional interests include radionuclide therapy, medical imaging, and instrumentation. His research has included the MRI Unicoil, a tunable partial-body coil; the application of polyvinyl alcohol to radioactive waste management and more recently, Radiopharmacy Theranostics.
Michael is also an accomplished photographer, with one book publication to his credit.
